Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the magnetic transformation work?
The HiMAT mode transformation uses a magnetic system embedded in the keycap structure. You can switch between display configurations by manipulating the magnetic components, replicating the Strike Freedom's wing binder deployment. The mechanism is designed for smooth operation with satisfying tactile feedback.
Q: Does the wing binder glow without keyboard backlighting?
No, the glowing effect is created by semi-translucent resin channeling your keyboard's existing RGB backlight. The keycaps do not contain built-in LEDs. For the best HiMAT mode glow effect, we recommend keyboards with strong per-key RGB lighting.
Q: What key sizes are included in the set?
The set includes three keycaps: one 1.75u head keycap (typically for Caps Lock or similar) and two 1.25u shoulder keycaps (for modifiers like Alt/Fn). Please verify your keyboard's key sizes before ordering.
Q: Will the magnets interfere with my keyboard?
No, the magnets are carefully shielded and positioned to only affect the transformation mechanism. They will not interfere with your keyboard's electronics or other keycaps. The magnetic force is precisely calibrated for smooth operation.
Q: How durable is the transformation mechanism?
The magnetic system is designed for thousands of transformation cycles. However, we recommend handling the mechanism gently and avoiding excessive force. The system is precision-engineered for smooth, satisfying operation.
Q: Is this an official Bandai product?
This is a fan-made artisan keycap set created by independent artist Johnny. It is not an official Bandai or Sunrise product, but a handcrafted tribute to the Gundam SEED Destiny series for keyboard enthusiasts and collectors.
